Very Dark Roast

French Roast is tricky to get right. Roasting coffee this dark usually eliminates the distinctive flavor of fine coffees. The skill is in choosing the right beans, and roasting them so that the original grace notes remain present in the final result. We use a carefully selected blend of dense, high-grown beans that turn a deep dark brown color with aromatic oils glistening on the surface. The flavor is intense with tangy, smoky overtones. FGC's French stands up well to cream - a dark roasted coffee's most virtuous character trait -- and also makes the best Cafe au Lait we've ever tasted.
