This is a classic washed Kenya AA, grown on the Southwestern slope of Mt Kenya at 2000 meters. This part of the Nyeri district is famous for its red volcanic loam, which is high in phosphorous and other plant nutrients. This unique soil structure, along with the Gatina cooperative’s precision picking of only ripe cherries, contributes to its bright, sweet and lush cup profile. Gatina grows the celebrated SL-28 cultivar under hardwood and banana tree shade.
